Sooo... I'm done. You say with WHAT? PROTEKT 3 is done. Crossfire, yes that one!

YAY!!!

*runs around the room screaming*

Believe me, I'm stoked to finally finish it. Not because I didn't like the story, but because it took so long to figure out exactly how I wanted everything to go.

PLOTTING ANYONE?

Yeah, maybe I should've plotted it thoroughly, but when I wrote the synopsis, I knew exactly what I wanted to occur. I just didn't know the map to get there. GEEZ! Regardless, I wrote the ending and a per usual, I don't really like it. Meaning that last sentence. That last part that supposed to leave you with all the feels.

UGH!

This one isn't giving me that, so I'm taking a break from it, then picking it back up in a couple of days to edit. I also need to find a beta or 2 for it before I turn it in so maybe the publisher might have it by September 20th!

WHICH IS... the same day I release Veronica's first book. Due to time and other issues, I won't be doing the short for her right now, but I will be start her next novella that I will send to a publisher. Hopefully, you'll check out her first story. It's an interracial romance called Riding the Curve. It's a short, sexy erotica story for grownups.

*giggles*

AHEM.

I really hop you check that out. Then, BL's two shorts should be out shortly after that. UTG3's cover is in the works. Edits are done. Still waiting on edits for Hirah, so I hope to get them both out by the end of this month.

So what's next in WIP's? ANASA, of course. The poor man is chomping at the bit, so he'll finally get to start this weekend. Then, I'll follow with Rawiya's MM, and BL's short once Rawiya is finished. As always a bunch to do, but at least CROSSFIRE is in the books.

Well, first draft anyway!

*pats myself on the back*

Do you know how hard it is to finish a book with so much doubt swirling in your brain? I'm sure you do, so cut me some slack!
desiresdd17: (BLMorticia)

So, I am done with the baseball short.

The dang thing ended up at around 22K.

*shakes fist at characters*

WHYYY! When I tried really hard to make it like 15K, but no, these two continued to talk. And in that 22K, I have like 4 sex scenes.

JESUS!

There is a lot of banter between these two as well. Some great one liners. It's kind of like The Wretched but with athletes instead of rockstars. It won't be out until November, so we'll see if me and my betas can cut some of the filler.

So that leaves me with Crossfire. I really wanted this story to be done by end of August. Unless I write like 10-12K in the next 3 days, that won't happen, so I'm setting the goal to be done by September 4th. I actually need to be done by Saturday because I have a wedding to attend. That means no writing. Oh and the wedding is out of town so, yeah, probably not going to bother taking my laptop. I will take my Kindle though so we shall see what happens.

To make that date happen, I will be putting off starting anything else new. Anasa is ready to go, but Crosssfire has to be finished. I wanted it in the editor's hands sooner than later, but due to RL and so many other things, I couldn't make that happen.

Once I get that done, I'll start rewriting my stories Guardian Angel/Save me, combining them into one titled Save Me. It's the story I wanted to write for my cousin who committed suicide. I've wanted to finish a full book for him for a long time, and since I bought the cover, I'll be doing that.

Also, I'll be doing Veronica's short, Rain Delay, and Anasa for Michael. Once any one of those are done, I intend to work on a couple of stories for BLMorticia. One is a novella I don't have a title for, but it's set in New Orleans and involves paranormal. The other is a short called Heat of The Night. I have a cover for that as well and I'll be probably giving it away as a freebie or charging 99 cents for it. We shall see how it goes.

Wish me luck on finishing Crossfire by Sept 4th!

Smoke...

desiresdd17: (Default)

Greetings folks.

Well, I subbed Smoke and it was rejected.

*cries*

I worked really hard on this story as I do with all of them, but 4-5 months of agonizing over it and it's all gone for naught.

At least I tried. Unfortunately if you were looking for this book to come out in 2017 that is highly unlikely. The size of it permits me from self pubbing it. Why you ask? The edits. Right now, it isn't in the cards. So, I'll hang on to it until the end of the year. Maybe things will be better and I can do it. Never know, but for now I'm shelving it.

With that bad news, I'm trying to push forward with my current WIPs. I have 3 stories working right now. Crossfire, and my two shorts. I haven't started Immortals 3 yet because I truly wanted to finish one first before starting another. The shorts are both about 9k plus and I'm going for at least 11-13k on both. As we speak, I'm focusing on Crossfire because I hope to get it to my publisher before the end of the month. I have so much on the WIP list that I'm pretty sure some of those will not be published until next year.

In the meantime, I need to focus. I banked on the pub liking this story and justifying the time I spent on it. I also wanted Michael to do something different. At this point, I might take the editor's suggestions and change the POV. I also might put it under BL because it is more of her kind of story anyway. A part of me just wants people to read it. When I looked at the reject letter I thought about just putting it in as freebies in my newsletter, but I can't. I'd really like it to get it's own cover and go on Amazon one day. It just won't be this year.

*sighs*

So there it is. The trials of being an author. One of them spelled out for you. I'm not giving up hope for SMOKE though. I want this story to be loved and get some recognition for the complex plot. Perhaps down the line, things will change and i can come up with a better solution.

Thanks for listening!

So, once again, I have been busy.

I swear, I have. If you look at my Word Count tabulator for this year, you'll see I am over 300K for the year already, which hasn't happened in quite a while. And that's only fiction. It doesn't include any blogposts or articles I've been writing. Just fic.

Anyways, its cool if you don't believe me. I wanted to write in to catch you up on things if you're still following. I really should be writing and as I post this, Crossfire PROTEKT3 is open on my laptop, but I got distracted. I made the mistake of starting UTG3, Crossfire, and Immortalitys Gift at once, thinking I could finish all three by the end of June.

NOPE!

OhEmGEE, such a big mistake. My brain wasn't prepared with the overload. I was doing fine, until mid June stepped in. Nothing major in my personal life, just RL got in the way. Not only that, I'm probably suffering from a bit of burnout. After Smoke was done, I went directly into these 3 stories, thinking it would be a breeze. Immortalitys was fun and before I knew it, I spent the rest of June and part of July finishing it while the other two stories sat idle.

UGH!

I didn't want that to happen, but it did, and now, I'm at about 16k with Crossfire and very anxious about how it goes from here on out. I'm just not feeling the story as of yet. I have gotten words down today, but I found out this story is a lot of banter so far. Unlike the other PROTEKT stories, there isn't much action yet. And it's a bit of a letdown.

No worries though. I will keep chugging along. I wanted it to get done by end of this month, but its highly unlikely. Worrying about stories, sales, and RL issues has taken it's toll. So instead of stressing, I'm going to pace myself. I wanted it out this year, but it may not happen. We shall see.

In the meantime, I don't want to start on anything new. I really want to complete these then move on, but other things are pulling away my attention.

***As always, more plot bunnies. I have another new story idea that crept up on me in the last 48 hours. BL is working with co-author again. We have a story done and 3 more to do as well as a secret project we're doing together.
***Michael needs to start Immortals 3 as well as Gren.
*** Rawiya is idle.
*** Veronica is ready to go with her first story after being rejected by a pub, but I have other stories for her.
*** The secret muses have books to do as well and I'm NOT READY!

Argh.

I'm confident I will get things done, however, reading through this journal made me realize a couple of things. You may ask what made you go through the pages? Well, Photobucket decided they wouldn't allow free 3rd party webhosting anymore so all the pics I had in here needed to be updated or deleted.

F*CKERS (Shakes Fists)

AHEM

Anyway, back to my dilemma. There are LOADS of stories that need revising and some that never saw the light of day with a publisher. Since I'm a different writer now, they all need to be redone. So many of those books were mentioned in several posts. If you look at the left side of my journal, you'll see tags for them.

African Sun, Wild Horses, Trois?

lol

Neither one of them ever made it to a publisher. Its disheartening, but I won't dwell on it too much. I only have 2 hands and one brain. I would love to begin revising, but newer plots take precedence. *sighs* Perhaps I need a ghost writer? LOL

Nope. I'm not James Patterson, so I'll have to slog through the best way I can.

In the meantime, continue to check back with me for updates. Right now, I'm working on UTG3 and Crossfire exclusively. I'm hoping to start my short for Veronica in the coming days.

Oh, and the muse is Nick Bateman who is my Bastien Desmarais from Crossfire. I really love him and need to finish his story!

16441250_10210618000619616_410289217_n

I have been busy That's the reason I haven't posted in a while. I'm working on three books right now, one of them is a book called Immortality's Gift. It's in my Immortals series and involves these three men. These are the twins from my Taboo series, Ryland and Ryder, with their human lover, Dale. Immortality's Gift will be my first MPreg. I've been wanting to do one for a while and since I don't want to give away spoilers that's all I'll say.

Michael and I are also working on Crossfire, PROTEKT 3 and it's also going well. I'm doing it without much plotting, which is different, but it seems to be okay so far. Although both books are my focus, I can't help but be excited about Immortality's Gift. Not only because I love MPreg, but because I love paranormal/fantasy. I adore vampires, demons, mages, just the weird stuff. lol I believe Michael loves it too which is why this book has more words the others. I'm working on this right now and I don't want to move from it. Despite this, I'm going to because the other books need my attention.

My goal was to get Immortalitys and UTG3, which I am also working on, done by the end of June. Not sure if that will happen, but I'll certainly try because I have a subcall to do that's due on 7/30. Oh and if you'd like to read Mon Trois and the other books, please follow this link! Ryland and Ryder Durand
desiresdd17: (GeishaJT)
Smoke I know, I know. It's been a while.

3 Weeks?

I've been hella busy. A lot has changed since I last wrote. The graphic for the book above is gone to a publisher. I've released Nola Nuptials, and Immortals One is going to an editor. I've also got 2 new plot bunnies, one of which decided, yeah, we're gonna wreck you until you write this story.

SOOO NOT HAPPENING! Damn muses! It's a sexy IR paranormal, dark, rom com. Hmm. I know, sounds great right? Welp, maybe I'll try writing it late summer, but for now I have a ton on my plate.

*PROTEKT 3 is next on the docket. I've been putting it off because I'm doing Veronica's stories.

*Veronica's MF I'm halfway done with one and I have another I'm subbing to a publisher.

*Immortals 2 Immortality's Gift is actually up next too because I'd like the 2nd one to come out like a week or 2 after the first. It is sort of a cliffhanger and i don't want readers to wait that long for book 2. So I might not release that until like 3rd week of June with book 2 to follow right after it.

*Subcalls I have 2 I'd like to do. Both due on July 30th

*Hirah and UTG I'd like both done and released by July. Hirah 3 will be out in June. It's done but I need to revise, edit, etc.

*Gren Gren has been pushed back. I hope to start on it sometime this year but I'm doing the subcalls so they have taken precedence.

*Coauthor work I have Tempo coming out and a Veronica short as well as Redux we are about to edit. We'll be working on the followup to Redux as well. Whew, okay, that's a bunch. So when I return here, we'll see where I'm at. I'm only working on Veronica and the fanfic now. As soon as I finish her first story, I'll be doing the second as well as working on Hirah. I hope to be finished with both Veronica tales within a month. That way I can concentrate on the 3 new muses and BL! Michael will always be working since I want all the Immortals books out by December. Wish me luck!
desiresdd17: (DaveReading)

So here is the deal with SMOKE.

No, no, no, don't panic. I didn't add more words to the 117K that I'd already done.

*whew* You say.

No, I just wanted to talk more about it. Not in terms of plot or anything because, duh, you wouldn't read it if I did.
Instead, I wanted to share how long it had been in the WIP box and how you should NEVER throw away ideas.
We writers are strange creatures. Yes, you knew this already right? We spend as many hours thinking of stories as we do writing them.

It's TRUE! I swear! Ask any author if you don't want to ask me.

*laughs*

Anyway, yes, when those glorious plot bunnies pop up in our heads we find anything, absolutely anything to get it down. Some of us have fantastic memories and we're able to remember. While others find anything to jot it down with. Lipstick, crayon, pen, pencil, and of course, any electronic device.

I've never done the lipstick, but I have done the crayon before. I have a pretty good memory, but sometimes that brain won't be functioning correctly so it's always best to write it down or tap it into my phone.

As far as SMOKE is concerned, I'm not sure how it came about, just know it's been on my WIP list for almost four years.

Yes, that's right. 4!

The plot line was agonizing, because ...
I'm not fucking telling you!

*inserts maniacal laughter here*

Sorry, I can't. I'd give you the basis of it if I were self-pubbing. I'll tell you this much. It's a writer, a fireman, and a businessman. That's all. Oh and it's interracial, and angsty and that's all I'll say.

Anyway, SMOKE was an incomplete idea. I had a couple of scenes and because I'm more of a panster, I didn't have the plot set up for this story. I only knew who I wanted to "star" in the book. If you look back a few posts in this journal, you'll see the muses for the story. I started to put them on that graphic, but ... yeah, no. Those RF stock models will do.

Back to the story. While letting it fester, I wrote a couple of shorts on it. I participated in a freebie sharing group called Wednesday Briefs and actually wrote 3 different scenes for SMOKE. None of those made it to the actual book, but I saved all three as a reminder for the story.

When I started it last NANO, I had those small parts as well as the muses faces on the page. All I had was a basic idea, and seemingly the more I wrote on it, the more it started to flow through my fingers. Even when I took a break on the story, I was still able to pick up where I left off without an issue. Actually, I'm thinking the break was the best thing I could've done because it went so smoothly after that. Sure the characters took me on a rough ride, but hey, that's what makes a more intriguing book.

Now, I've often talked about how endings are an absolute bitch for me. They still are, and this book was no exception. I do believe that I ended the book correctly though. It had a nice epilogue that showed a beautiful scene. The characters seemed satisfied with it too, so I'll just have to see what the feedback will be from the betas.

The moral to this story? NEVER throw any ideas away! Regardless of how bad that story sounds, how choppy, or whatever, it might turn into something big later on. SMOKE might have never been written if I didn't want to do something out of the ordinary. Well, at least out of the ordinary for Michael.

Writing is like a journey that takes us on different paths each time. Some might stay on that same path, while others, like me decide to wander off onto a different one. Sure the road was bumpy and it did take me a long time to complete, but I'm glad I did. It was an excitingly frightening experience, as every book is. And it all started with 3 scenes and a half ass idea.

Writers, don't concern yourself with how many ideas are in the WIP folder. Most likely, unless you write at the speed of wind, you'll never finish them all. All those half ass ideas and small notes, might end up being something bigger in the long run. Cherish them all in the notebook, on the laptop, on piece of paper in a box written in crayon. They're all valuable whether you write them or not.

Whew!

Okay so that ends this post.

This is the WIP list now.

Or instead, why don't I let Michael tell you? Read his post here.

desiresdd17: (Default)

Oh Em Gee, it's done!  I can't believe it. The monster I'd begun to call my story, Smoke, is FINISHED.

Well, okay, first draft is. Of course it's on to the betas and then a final read for me before it goes to the publisher. I'm so excited about the story. I believe once I went through it again and finagled with sentences it turned out great.

And no, it's NOT 130K, thank freaking goodness. It's 117. Before the cuts, it was 123 so I'd say I did a great job in cutting. I won't mind cutting more though. I'm sure the betas will have more suggestions about what isn't needed. Regardless I am happy as ever that I completed this story and can cross it off my to-do list.

Now I can concentrate on my other things as well as my new stories. Then, the waiting begins once I send it off to the publisher.

Wish me luck!

* * * *

So with that news, the WIP list gets bigger. LMAO

You thought it went the other way?

Immortals 1
PROTEKT 3
DD Fanfic

I will start Nola Nuptials and my 2 het stories as well. Immortals is only in the beginning so it will be a while for that one. PROTEKT isn't even started and I need to rewrite the synopsis. So instead of crossing off, I'll be adding to the WIP list. Such is the life of a writer.
desiresdd17: (Default)

YASS!

I finally got the reader's request done. I know, I know, it wasn't a big deal, but it was to me because I didn't want to start any more stories until I'd finished one. I'm letting this sit for a while before I let someone look over it and post it here as well as Wattpad.

I have some stories over there if you'd like to have a look. Most are racy. If you're game, go on and click this link

Oh and the cover I did myself. I used Canva since I am not proficient with photoshop.

:)

* * * *

With another WIP done, I can focus on finishing Smoke. It is very close as I said in my last post. I also have Immortals 1 which is now being pushed back until May, but it does have words at least. The next story I'm starting is Nola Nuptials which is also a reader's story but I'm putting that on sale. Look for that next month. Also, PROTEKT 3 will be started. Once I get done with Smoke or Nola Nuptials, I'll start on Gren Dumont's story which will wrap up the Brothers Durand series. And I still have my DDFics to finish. The one I've been writing for like a year as well as a Dave/JT crossover.

Oh and of course, I'll be doing a couple of het books for my new muses. I'll be starting one this week!

desiresdd17: (Default)

Yes, I am still working on Smoke.
Yes, it is still reving up my anxiety!
But, I love it. I love the story, it's characters, especially this big lug above. He is the muse for Jonas Sandbauck, the hotheaded fireman in this story. Now you know why smoke is in the title, right?

Heh!

Ahem, anyway, I've been writing like crazy on this story. I've written about 6k the last two days. Is it done, you ask?
Hells no! Not even close.

Right now the story is up to 78K plus. I have put the characters through one obstacle with like four more to go.

Yes, I am placing hurdle in their way to get them to where they need to be and I'm still worried about the end results. Will I satisfy the characters, will I tie up all the loose ends? I worry about that last one more than anything because that is what determines how much a reader will like a story.

Of course, number one audience is me, but there will be others who will read it. I hope. Regardless, I will need critical eyes on this one for sure and I'm hoping for the kind of feedback that will make the story as close to perfect as possible.

Damn muses. Complicated, unpredictable, and I love them!
desiresdd17: (Default)

Argh!

The dang muses from my book Smoke have struck again. Since I was on vacation the last week of February, I'm catching up with these men and oh wow, they did have a lot to say.

Then there was the vision I had on Friday night for a scene to write in the book. I can't tell you about it because it would ruin the story. Let's just say it has to do with death and sex.

Um...

I know that doesn't give you a lot to go on and no, I'm not talking about a snuff scene or necrophilia. LOL It's involving two of the characters from the book. That's all I'll say. I know, I know, I'm a tease, but if I tell you, you won't read the dang book!

*laughs*

This reminds me about one of my earlier posts about this book. How the plotline makes me anxious. And this scene only adds to that anxiety. I'm wondering how readers will feel when they read the scenarios these three men have gone through.

All so they can build something lasting together. Yes, they gotta go through some shit because I believe it will bring them closer.

Okay, now I've said way too damn much. I should be writing instead of telling you. I will! I have the WIP open and now I will stop blabbing and go write it!

And yes, that man above is one of the muses. Boris is my muse for jerk ass, Myles Greyson.
desiresdd17: (Default)

So I left on February 26th and came back March 3rd from Mardi Gras.

I've made this trip for the last 6 years straight and this time, I took my 9 year old daughter with me and my husband.

It was a glorious trip. I didn't get much any writing done because we were out in the streets most of the day and not a lot of down time except at night. Of course, with my daughter there, we couldn't go on Bourbon and party on Fat Tuesday, and yes, it felt really odd! But still she had a great time and I'm glad I got to take her. With her being there, partying was limited, but we did do the touristy things.

She wanted to go to the cemetary, so we went on the cemetary tour because you can't go into one of the Louis cemetaries (there are 3) without a guide. Though it was pricey, it was well worth it. I learned a lot from our person, who btw, is named Daphne. She reallyw as hysterical and very knowledgable. We really enjoyed it.

We also visited the Louisiana State Museum on Thursday. And boy, did the plot bunnies snowball on me then! I mean, historicals, ideas for a couple of ghost stories. I've done cops in NOLA, and with a little help from a fmr cop friend in LA and lots of reading, I hope it did okay with trying to make the series believable.

Now, I want to do more paranormals, esp. with Michael, and more historicals. More books with Native Americans, books during the civil war, the slave trade. etc. There were so many little scenarios I thought about. And they're all in my brain. :P

Now I just need to write everything down.

EEK that's gonna be fun NOPE

and I have to catch up with my boys in SMOKE because believe you me, they are waiting.

Oh, and my muse? Well that's Nick Bateman. I have a story for him that BL will write and hopefully sub by the end of the year. We'll see what happens!

* * * *

So with no writing, I am still on the same WIPs.

SMOKE
Reader Request
DDFanfic

I haven't started Immortals yet, but I will this week. By the time i finish the reader's story, I should also do my 3rd book in the PROTEKT series. I hope to have that finished by June/July.

The first book in Immortals has to be released by late April for me to stay on Schedule. :)
desiresdd17: (Default)

Some random guy I downloaded. Not sure who he is, but he's hot!

Greetings all. So, I've been really busy. Me and my co-author finished our book. yay!

*throws confetti*

We came in just under 80k. YIKES

yes we have some editing to do, but we'll see who it goes.

I also did my fanfic. Not the DD one, the other one. It went well and I'll post it on my Wattpad later on, with the names changed of course. My DD fic still isn't done because I put it down to write on the other fanfic. Now, I'll be working on the DD fic, as well as the reader request story. I did a little research and i think I can pull it off. I'm also OFFICIALLY starting Immortals. Book 1 will be about 30-40K, I think. I'm looking to release it in April. I have 5 books right now, so I'm thinking 1 every other month. I'm also still working on Smoke. I got some more words in and I hope to have it done in the next 3 or so weeks. That's the goal anyway.

So, my WIP list looks like this

DD Fic
Story Request
Immortals Book 1
Twins Prequel
Smoke

Once I finish one of these, I'll be starting on Michael's 3rd book in the PROTEKT series.

A lot I know, but I think I can do it! Wish me luck!
desiresdd17: (Default)

Greetings folks.

It's February! OHEMGEE, can you believe it? January already flew by and now the second month of 2017 is upon us.

January was a busy month for me. I managed to write over 75k last month, mostly because I finished like 4 stories. *laughs* The one I'm doing with my co-author isn't done, but we're almost to the finish line. Currently we're clocking in at 56k and probably looking at 65-70k for our book.

This month I'm focusing on a new set of challenges. I've decided to let BL relax and won't be doing UTG3 until I pick her up again in May. That way I can concentrate on doing Michael's stories as well as my new  muses like Veronica Bagby. Michael has a 5 book series at this point for Immortals, then the story with my co-author, as well as PROTEKT 3 which has no name at this point. Then there is Smoke which I need to re-open this week and get back to, But I didn't want to do so until I got at least the co-author book and my DD Fanfic off the list.

Why you ask? Because I realized BL has over 30 books to her credit. Sure, 18 of those are for The Wretched alone which is a collection of novellas, but dang, my Michael muse is starving for more attention. Such is the reason why I've to stop writing with the Wicked Gal for now. No worries, she'll be back. I already have a lot for her to tackle once we start writing again.

Another series for her with my co-author, the first book is done. UTG3, a Wretched spinoff or two, the follow up to Odd Couple, the redo of My Lieutenant, and possibly Wild Horses will finally get a look over. AGAIN. So believe you me, she has a lot on her plate and I'll look to doing more with her after May.

When I looked at the breakdown of books per author, they looked like this:

Michael 14
BL 31
Rawiya 7

Rawiya doesn't do a bunch, so I'm not really worried about her. She is supposed to be the opposite of BL anyway, so I'm not really concerned that she has a low amount. I would like to try getting her another book or 2 before the end of the year. Sugar Daddy is on tap to be re-done and I have a new one titled Love in the Slow Lane. We'll see how it goes.

In the meantime, wish me luck on my WIPs. As you can see I'll be hella busy. And I've decided to dip my toe in freelance writing as well. Hmm. We'll see how much I do. You can follow me there if you so desire. Sharita Lira

Oh and the muse is David Garrett. In my co-author story, he is Frederick Tremblay world famous violinist. <3
desiresdd17: (Default)

Welp ... here it is. Another Monday meaning a new week.

With the new week comes new challenges.

Finishing, editing, publishing. Repeat.

A I said in the last post, the middle part is become more of a PITA than the first and last. And here I thought finishing would be harder! Pssh

Actually, it was a little hard with my Valentine's Day short. Ry and Val didn't want to stop talking to me. Obviously, they can't wait for their stories to begin in the Immortals series, but due to the word cound restrictions, I had to cut them off. And then there's the thing I had with title. Er, um, I had no idea what to call it. I even talked it over with my husband. I wanted something cool with soul, demon, and vampire and... well, I ended up with My Demon, My Vampire.

*blinks*

The characters say that in the story and it kinda stuck so for now, that is the title. It ended up with 10, 032 I believe. And it did get me excited to write the series. I hope it makes people want to get into Immortals which I am starting this week. The first characters aren't Valios and Ryland, so we'll see how that goes.

See No Evil is with the editor and Hirah 2 is back on me. I've already started going through it and will give it a once over before putting it on Amazon.

My story with my co-author hit a temporary snag but we're back on track. It is at 47k so I hope to get it done soon. And I'm opening up Smoke again. WOOHOO. It will be nice to get Smoke done by March and hopefully send it somewhere to be published by winter.

With all that's going on in the world, I have to say I've been burying my head in fiction. Whether its writing or reading, I find being in my own head is the safest place to be. No, it doesn't mean I don't care, but I just choose to only say a couple of things then do what I can to fight for what I believe in. If I worried about every damn thing coming down the pike, I'd be crazier than I already am.

So, today's message? Do what you love. Enjoy it. Cherish it, because you never know if you might not be able to do it again. Writing is my escape. Its how I cope. Sure, I have my family and friends, but my fiction is what I use to temporarily forget about my problems and the world's. Its the best medicine out there!

Oh and my muse is John Kenney. I adore that picture! Look at that hair!

Ah. Even more relief!

I can breathe a little bit easier now with yet another book off my WIP list. My first draft of Hirah 3 is done. So, I'll let her fester, then go back when it's time to edit. I worried I wouldn't be able to pull it off, but once I gave them something to disagree on, the story wrote itself. Then, it was sweet reunion. It ended up being about 24k, which is cool.

Now, on to the next project. I am still doing edits on See No Evil and at this point I'm looking at February for it to come out. This is difficult, because again, it's being self-published. So when the money is low and I'm not able to pay an editor, the book gets shelved. I'll finally be able to get it to her so she can work on it.

The next project is a Valentine's Day short I committed to doing by February 5th. I don't have a title, but it will be the same story I mentioned in my last post with Ryland and Valios. I'm thinking since it is mostly about lust and not love, it should be an easy task. I'm hoping to drum up some readership for Michael's Immortal Souls series, which I am starting immediately.

At this point, I am ready to put BL away for the moment. We're going to finish UTG3, then I will stop writing with her until May. Then, I will pick up the follow-up to Odd Couple, perhaps My Lieutenant, as well as more books in the Metalrotica series. There is also a chance I will work with my co-author at that time on another book with BL as well.

While Michael and I finish up the short, we will do Immortals, and start the last book in the PROTEKT series. We also have my book with my co-author and Smoke to finish. I plan on getting at least 4 books for Michael done before I start with BL again.

I'm also planning a book for Rawiya and 2 of my new muses. At least one in the time I leave BL alone. Geez! I'm making a tall order for myself, but I really feel I can get something accomplished.

With January almost done, I have several releases to look forward to.

(January)
Under the Gun 2 re-release
Hirah #2

(February)
See No Evil
Wounded Pride (DSP)

(March)
Hirah #3
Under the Gun 3

(April)
Demon be Mine (Immortals 1)

I also have books going to publishers. So I hope this means new readership throughout the year. and my anxieties are gone for now, but perhaps with the more I get accomplished, the more I'll forget to worry.

Oh and you ask, why I have Jason Momoa up there? Well if you didn't know, he's my muse for Valios. *fan self* He's such a charmer, but he's a demon too. ;)

Thx for listening

Yassss!

*pumps fists*

So, here it is 10 days later and I feel better about myself. I am no longer behind as I was. Why you ask? I have finished the first draft of See No Evil and it is with the betas. Woot, woot, woot!

Okay, let me calm down. There have been some positive things to come out of the betas. I shuddered from what they might think, but all seem to enjoy the book and with a few more tweaks, hopefully I can give my editor a clean draft so she won't have to work so hard.

I also figured out what was going on with Hirah so now I believe I'm back on track with her too. The 2nd book is on its way to the editor so I will get her out by 1/31 at the latest. Also, UTG2 will be out. I'd like to do a free day on KU for it and hopefully draw up interest in the 2nd one. I'll be starting the third in a couple of days.

I did start a new story with my co-author. We're already at 18k! YIKES. It's a different kind of story for Michael. A love tale that has a few bumps in the road, but will eventually get to a happy ending. You know my guy muse likes complex shit, but because of the character, who is really quirky, long winded, I decided Michael should write him. We'll see how it goes, but I'm excited for the book. Its going well.

Once I finish Hirah 3, I'll be starting the Immortals series with Michael. I'm looking to get the first book out by April, with each book coming out every other month. What it looks like now is 5 books so we'll see what happens. To satisfy the characters Ryland and Valios, I'm doing a sexy short for them that I'll publish on Wattpad, as well as the Lit blog and Michael's. I already dreamed about what would happen, so it should be very easy to write. Damn muses!

I also have Smoke on the backburner and I need to get back to it. I won't pick it back up until Hirah 3 and UTG 3 are done however so it might be awhile. They are screaming in my head so it is NOT a dead story. It will be finished and go to a publisher in the next few months.

I'm still working on my DD fanfic, but I have to admit, it has taken a back seat to my published work. I hope to get it done soon. And there's the short I was doing with the guy above and three of my favorite characters but I scrapped it because I didn't like the way it was going. I'll post the sext scene on Wattpad and on Lit Blog in a bit in case you're interested. It's just a sexy scene! I have another fanfic to do as well, so I hope to get that on the blogs eventually.

So much to do, I can hardly keep up, but at least I'm back on track again. I finally see some positives coming out of all of my anxious moments and hopefully that will get me to where I want to be in my career!

Thanks for listening!

Greetings folks. So another year is gone. Wha? Are you kidding me? I really cannot believe that 2013 is gone but hey, its 2014 so let's go!

Anyways, what did I manage to accomplish? I released 18 books, only two were novels. I also did a couple of shorts for anthologies too. What I noticed when I did my video for covers only 3 were released through pubs. A Special After Christmas Gift, Queer Fables, and Candyman. That brings me to my goal of subbing to other pubs. I was supposed to do 10. :/ I only subbed 3 and just one was a new pub I haven't been pubbed by. So that one still stands. The breakdown is 5 from Michael, 3 from Rawiya, and 2 from BL.

Writing wise I passed my 500k goal. Just barely too. 501K plus and only because I suffered writer's block in December. I didn't really think it could happen to me but after finishing I Love it Rough I did. My brain was exhausted, I was stressed from the EDJ and Christmas and it sent the muses into hiding. For nearly 2 weeks I didn't write anything. *grimaces* I started a short on 12/30 just to get out the kinks and I hope that works since I have a few things I want to write this month. Mainly some revisions and rewrites. There are stories that need to be revised for me to submit in the coming months. And I have some new stories I'd like to write this year.

I'll continue to write the Wretched for BL since its gaining some popularity. Someone asked me today when I was continuing. ;D Made me pretty happy. Also, edits on I Love it Rough this month for the 2/17 release. I have the twins story and I'd like to do a baseball anthology between the muses.

This year the writing goal is 325k. Why? Well, I figured 11 months at 25k a month = 275k plus Nano at 50k. That gives me more time to edit, revise, read, learn, research and promo. I'm pretty sure I'll pass that easily with the novels I have planned but I left it low so the daily pressure wouldn't be so high.

We shall see what happens especially when my 4th muse begins writing. I'm looking forward to the challenges and the new year.

Greetings folks! WHEW I almost didn't make it. Remember the last post were I was like 8k behind? Well last weekend I kicked ass, writing over 10k and then finishing by Wednesday as I wanted. Wednesday was my day off so I was able to stay up late, write for the majority of the morn after the kiddies went to school and make the 50k by nightfall!

Woot. *waves pom poms*

I'm damn proud of myself. The book is almost done too, currently sitting at 43k plus, it shall be done between 50-55k. Yay. You don't know how happy this makes me. In the midst of stress over real life, your job, kids, etc, its great to feel good about something you care about. I love to write and I love my characters so I'm pleased to have completed Nano and seeing it published next year. I'm looking to 2/17/14 which is my 8th Wedding anniversary. I plan on being in New Orleans again so I hope to make this happen.

Nano is truly a test, especially when you have kids, an EDJ, a significant other. It's hard enough with the distractions, even harder with the aforementioned important things. The EDJ almost killed me but I made it and I'm very happy that it didn't completely stop me from making my goal!

So, I plan on completing by Sunday. *crosses fingers* I'd like to move on to other stories and get ready to promote my Xmas release. To all those who attempted, wtg, even if you didn't win. The idea is you tried it. You're still a winner
!

Greetings. The title of this blogpost is... well no title, just ERGH or UGH

That's the sound i'm making after a few of those, "I don' t feel like writing cause i'm too damn tired..." days.

The EDJ is getting to me and now i'm fighting a bug! Grrrr

Currently I'm about 8k behind and Nano says I have to do 2300 a day to catch up

Yes I can do that but next week is Thanksgiving and Black Friday sooooo it would behoove me to get most of this done before then.

Unfortunately I work in retail so that means I'll be in the thick of it. Thankfully only part time. Still, i have a family, I have cooking to do... Gah, How will I get this done

Though I am pissed about being so behind, I'm not giving up. This weekend I'll be shooting for 8-10k so I can get the brunt of the story finished before the holiday. Please cheer me on!
