Greetings!
Welcome to another Monday update.
Today I wanted to share with you one of the things that plagues authors. Besides, of course, the contracts, the length of time we wait for stories to be accepted and published, and well running out of ideas when your muse runs away. (I dont have that issue) *grins*
There is the fact you may get a not so favorable review of your work.
Now, I'll tell ya, in the writers community, we take this very seriously. Of course, we share our good reviews, squeeing and yelling from the roof when we get 5 stars, 5 cups, roses, whatever but when we get a not so good one, we don't really share unless its with our SO's or friends to cry on.
Its kind of like when you were in school. You didn't boast about getting a D on a test. :P
Well, I'm here to boast about my so-so review. Why you ask?
Because, with every review you learn from it. That is, only if your reader had a valid point. And she did, she said it seemed rushed. Which I agree!
she said she wanted to see more from the characters and felt she didn't get to know enough about them.
I totally agree. Wish I would've spent a little more time on it and thankfully, my pub is allowing me to include story one in part two.
What am I talking about? True Meaning Of Love
Its my first book, so of course, it won't be perfect and even if it was, someone would still find fault.
The lesson learned is, how am I taking it and handling it?
In the day I got it which was last Thursday, I posted something like the good thing about the bad review is that you learn your mistakes. I had so many of my fellow authors tell me not to worry and to take it with a grain of salt.
Which Ive done and actually, it prompted me to go on and work on part two. 2K later... ;)
That same day I also had my pub tell me she wants a full length novel and that shes a fan of my work. I sent her my latest story and she said she would be pushing for more releases from me in the future.
Vote of confidence, your pub stroking and my fab friends on FB. Very cool.
I learned from my not so good review and took it in stride. Writers always learn, they're never perfect.
On the other hand, everyone will not like what you write but when you haven't fully explained the story, that is a valid beef.
So gang, just another chapter in my maturation as an author. All lessons will not be pleasant but they will be eye opening. This one was and I look forward to all good and bad reviews in the future. *laughs*

Okay then, soooo
What is on tap now?
Well, I started my True Meaning Two.
I also have Taming Wild Horses, Trois, AS, and Mi Familia.
I plan to start the full version of Sugar Daddy which I been dying to do.
I'm sending out My Lieutenant and Lessons in Ink this week for consideration. At the end of week, I hope to send Masquerade out.
There are about 5 sub calls I'd like to do over the next month so I hope to get those going as well.
Well, thats it for now,
TY for listening!
