Day 14 check in!

Okay, now that I'm all caught up, I can tell you what's really going on!

As of right now, I'm almost finished with Taken and Crowned, my sci-fi MPreg. I'm looking to finish first draft today. It has two scenes left and i have to go back to do a love scene that I left blank. I will then leave it for a few days and go back in to begin self editing. Fingers crossed I'll send it to my editor and it will be out a week before Breakable Faith, my other MPREG, is due to be released.

I've yet to start plans on what to write next year, but I've got a good idea. Since I read the book about writing to market, I'm changing my perspective on how I do my WIPs from now on. No more writing just for the sake of writing and throwing it at the wall to see if it sticks. I've got to build a plan of attack around what WIPs I should be working on to satisfy the brand.

Though I still hate that word, I realize how important it is when it comes to writing. My only regret is learning about this sooner so I wouldn't have wallowed around aimlessly, trying to find my audience. Now that I have a better idea of who I'm trying to reach with both names, I'll apply this to what I wish to write.

I know for the first part of the year, I'll be doing Dark Romance for Michael. I have a taboo WIP set as well as a spinoff to Immortals. For BL, I'm going with mostly musicians and kink. Her brand was actually already established, but I didn't realize it until I read that book. So, that being said, the books that don't necessarily fit, probably won't get done or they'll be reworked to fit those brands.

We'll see how it goes.

In the meantime, I'm hoping my new strategy works and I'm looking forward to testing out more as the new year comes around.

More on this branding thing after Nano is over. I seriously need to delve into my WIP. I'll check back in when I hit the 50K, which should be pretty soon.
