To answer your question, what I'm doing is typing up old newspaper accounts from 1860. A friend of my boss is writing another Lincoln book (he's a college professor/historian) and needed someone to type all these columns - they are all taken from really old, blurry photocopies of newspaper pages, so they are often EXTREMELY hard to read!! It has been fun, though. The guy who wrote them was a New York correspondent who was writing articles during his stay in Springfield from the time Lincoln was elected until he left for Washington, D.C. The guy was a total snob and thought Springfield was just the most god-awful depressingly dull town. :) Yeah, he'd probably still think that today!!!! LOL
